Travis Kelce is making changes to his diet and fitness routine as he prepares for the 2025 Super Bowl.
The Kansas City Chiefs tight end, who will compete against the Philadelphia Eagles on February 9 in New Orleans, recently opened up about his focus on weight loss and healthier eating leading up to the big game.
“I’ve been eating clean,” Kelce said at a press conference on February 6. “I haven’t been drinking as much, and I’ve dropped a few pounds this week. Hopefully, I can outrun some Eagles out there.”
When a critic suggested that his new diet might slow him down, Kelce turned the comment into motivation. “Motivation right there, isn’t it?” he replied, determined to prove them wrong on the field.
Kelce is not just drawing motivation from critics. His girlfriend, pop superstar Taylor Swift, has also been a source of inspiration. He praised Swift’s dedication during her grueling international Eras Tour. “What I saw on that tour last year was pretty remarkable,” he said. “The way she traveled week after week, performing in different countries—it’s tough on the body and mind. Her whole team was like a well-oiled machine. I admire that work ethic.”
The three-time Super Bowl champion also finds inspiration in his family. His brother, Jason Kelce, retired from the Eagles last year, and Travis is motivated by the support of Jason’s daughters—Wyatt, 5, Elliotte, 4, and Bennett, 23 months. “The fact that the girls are going to wear ‘Go Uncle Travvy’ shirts really warms my heart,” Travis said. “It gives me another reason to fight. I want to make them proud and put some smiles on their faces during the game.”
While his nieces are cheering for “Uncle Trav,” their parents—Jason and his wife Kylie—have made it clear they are rooting for the Eagles. Travis, however, isn’t letting the rivalry affect his family bond. “Jason and Kylie, I love them to death,” Kelce said. “This game isn’t going to change how much I love them.”
