Stay Fit Gym, a fitness network in Romania, has celebrated the opening of its 50th center this month, with plans to expand to 100 locations by 2027. The network now operates in 22 cities across the country.
The newest addition, Stay Fit Gym Ghencea, is located in the Ghencea district of Bucharest. At 2,000 square meters, it is the largest gym in the network to date. The company invested approximately 5 million RON (around 1 million EUR) in the new center, marking the highest investment for any Stay Fit Gym opening so far.
“We are excited to announce the opening of our 50th location, which shows our ongoing dedication to promoting a healthy lifestyle throughout Romania. Since Morphosis Capital joined as a shareholder over three years ago, we’ve opened 43 gyms with a total investment exceeding 130 million RON. Our plans for growth remain strong, with more locations set to open this year and in the next two years,” said Alexandru Lascar, co-founder and CEO of Stay Fit Gym.
Adrian Netea, Investment Director at Morphosis Capital, highlighted the network’s progress: “Opening Stay Fit Gym Ghencea is a key milestone in our expansion. It demonstrates our ability to meet the needs of local communities. We’ve also grown our team from about 100 employees in early 2022 to over 600 today. This growth is even more impressive considering the original plan was to increase from 7 to 35 gyms over five years. In just three years, we’ve expanded sevenfold, surpassing our expectations.”
Stay Fit Gym was founded in 2012 by Romanian entrepreneurs Alexandru Lascar, Marius Preodisteanu, and Laurentiu Lascar.
