EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) – The YMCA in Eau Claire is aiming to make fitness more accessible and comfortable for everyone. With the help of new technology, they are breaking down barriers and helping gym-goers reach their goals more effectively.
The YMCA has introduced EGYM, a system that uses artificial intelligence to create personalized full-body workout plans. The specialized machines act like a personal fitness coach, guiding users through exercises tailored to their fitness goals, whether it’s building muscle or losing weight.
Jonah Berman, the customer training manager for EGYM, explains that the technology is ideal for beginners or those looking for a quick, efficient workout. “With EGYM, you’re in and out within an hour. You don’t have to worry about reps, weight, tempo, or rest time. It’s all taken care of for you,” Berman said.
Currently, EGYM is available at the Eau Claire South YMCA. However, all members of the Chippewa Valley YMCA can also access the EGYM equipment at this location.
