Gardners’ Fitness Workshop Scheduled for April 10 at St. Andrews

by Lana Green

St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, located at 435 East Church Street in Kilmarnock, will host a free Gardeners’ Fitness Workshop on April 10 at 11 a.m.

Jenny Landry, a personal trainer and yoga instructor, will lead the session, offering an overview of safe and effective exercises and stretches for gardeners. “Regular practice of these exercises can improve your gardening experience, reduce the risk of injury, and ease post-gardening soreness,” Landry explained.

She highlighted how gardening activities, such as digging, raking, squatting, lunging, pushing, pulling, and twisting, engage a variety of physical skills, including strength, stamina, balance, coordination, and flexibility.

The workshop is organized by the St. Andrews Outreach Committee. Committee Chairwoman Barbara Pulling encourages all local gardeners to attend.
