Meghan Trainor is opening up about the secret behind her impressive weight loss, crediting “science” for her physical transformation.
At the 2025 Billboard Women in Music event, the “All About That Bass” singer shared insights into the steps she has taken to “biohack” her body. Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, Trainor, a mother of two, explained how she uncovered new fitness strategies that led to her transformation.
“Science is the secret. I love it,” Trainor said. “I learned a lot of tricks I didn’t know before. I was working out all wrong for so long. I was doing cardio and running, but my body was always inflamed.
The singer went on to explain that she’s experimenting with biohacking methods, aiming to “age backward” and improve her overall health. “I just learned about the NAD supplements. I thought, ‘Make me Hailey Bieber. I’ll try it,'” she added. “I’m open to anything that helps, and I love when a doctor explains things to me.”
NADs, short for nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide, are supplements that support cell function. According to advanced nurse practitioner Emma Wedgwood, NAD plays a crucial role in converting food into energy for our cells. “NAD also supports DNA repair and immune health,” she told GQ last year. “As we age, NAD+ levels decrease, affecting energy and cell regeneration, which is why it’s becoming popular in anti-aging research.”
Trainor has always been transparent about her health and fitness journey. After giving birth to her first son, she lost 60 pounds. “I was my heaviest after my C-section, over 200 pounds. I just didn’t feel great,” she told ET Canada in 2022. Determined to improve, she set herself the challenge of losing weight slowly and steadily.
“I thought, ‘If I can survive a C-section, I can do anything,'” Trainor recalled. “I was very committed, and I saw the pounds come off gradually. I discovered that I actually like healthy food and understood the importance of portion control. Plus, I learned that exercise makes my brain happy, so now I feel better than ever.”
