Tallinn Airport Launches Fitness and Sports Zones to Enhance Passenger Experience

by Lana Green

Tallinn Airport (TLL) has introduced new fitness and sports features designed to keep passengers active, entertained, and engaged during their wait. Known for seven consecutive years of winning the ASQ (Airport Service Quality) Award in the 2–5 million passenger category, the airport continues to lead in enhancing the passenger experience.

Enhancing the Passenger Experience

Riivo Tuvike, Chairman of Tallinn Airport’s Management Board, highlighted the airport’s efforts to improve passenger satisfaction: “We’ve worked with various companies to brand different gates, creating a fun and cozy environment beyond typical airport gates. This approach not only offers variety for regular travelers but also provides unique branding opportunities for our partners, generating extra revenue for the airport.”

Fitness Center and Active Options

In March, Tallinn Airport opened a free fitness center at Gate 7 in partnership with local gym chain MyFitness. The gym, designed for all fitness levels, includes cardio machines, treadmills, a yoga space, and benches, giving passengers the chance to stay active while waiting for their flights. Tuvike commented, “Exercise is important, and we’re excited to provide this opportunity for travelers in collaboration with MyFitness.” The airport cafés also offer healthy food options for those looking to refuel after a workout.

Interactive Sports and Educational Features

As Tallinn celebrates being the European Capital of Sport in 2025, Gate 9 has been transformed into a fun, interactive hub. Passengers can enjoy activities like ping-pong, checkers, hopscotch, and fitness machines, such as bike and ski trainers. The airport also broadcasts live international sporting events for added entertainment.

Additionally, Tallinn Airport has partnered with the Estonian Sports and Olympic Museum to create a Paralympics-themed gate. This interactive exhibit showcases parasports and specialized equipment, allowing travelers to learn about the remarkable achievements of athletes with disabilities.

Through these initiatives, Tallinn Airport is not only enhancing the travel experience but also reinforcing its reputation as one of the world’s coziest airports.
