Team Bath Gym Joins HYROX as Official Training Club and Venue

Team Bath Gym has been named an official HYROX Performance Hub, giving members the opportunity to train for and compete in one of the world’s fastest-growing fitness challenges. HYROX, a global fitness movement, tests athletes on strength, speed, agility, and endurance. It is gaining popularity for its accessible and exciting format.

Starting this spring, Team Bath will host exclusive member competitions at its Sports Training Village, with new HYROX classes added to the gym’s group exercise schedule on weekdays. These classes aim to support individuals looking to improve their fitness, whether they’re preparing for a race or simply working towards better health.

In 2023, more than 90,000 athletes participated in HYROX events worldwide. The competition consists of eight 1km runs, each followed by functional workouts like burpees, sled push, indoor rowing, and ski-erg. The standardized format allows athletes to compete on global leaderboards, leading to a World Championship event.

While competition is a key element of the HYROX movement, the program also focuses on making exercise classes accessible for everyone. These classes cater to individuals at all fitness levels, including those training for their first race or looking to improve general fitness.

Sam Holmes, Health and Fitness Manager at Team Bath, expressed excitement about the partnership: “We are thrilled to be an official HYROX affiliate. This new partnership adds value to our members, many of whom have seen HYROX on social media or tried it already. Our gym, with its 200 stations and Matrix Fitness equipment, is perfect for training for the eight challenges of HYROX.”

From Monday, February 10th to Friday, February 15th, Team Bath will offer free trial sessions of the new HYROX exercise classes. These 45-minute sessions will then be included in the regular group exercise timetable starting February 17th. Each class will focus on different themes such as strength, power, endurance, or hybrid, with weekly variations to keep the workouts fresh.
