Lompoc Valley Medical Center will host a free public lecture on February 19, featuring Dr. Christopher Taglia, a general and bariatric surgeon. Dr. Taglia will discuss new advances in weight loss treatments.
The lecture will explore several important topics, including:
The benefits and drawbacks of weight loss medication
How weight loss medication compares to weight loss surgery
New surgical techniques in weight loss surgery
Dr. Taglia has performed nearly 2,300 surgeries at LVMC, including over 500 robotic surgeries, covering procedures like bariatric surgery, hernia repairs, and GI-related surgeries.
The event will start at 6 p.m. at the Dick DeWees Community and Senior Center, located at 1120 W. Ocean Ave.
This lecture is part of the ongoing series hosted by the Lompoc Hospital District Foundation. The lecture is free, and plenty of parking is available for attendees.
