Jacob Elordi recently spoke about his significant weight loss for his upcoming series The Narrow Road to the Deep North.
At a press conference during the Berlin Film Festival, the Saltburn actor shared that playing a prisoner of war in the new Justin Kurzel-directed series was “a calming experience.” He explained that it was a “profound” experience and not as “torturous” as one might expect.
The 27-year-old actor revealed, “There was a peace that sort of came over all of us.” He added, “You reach a level of love that goes beyond what you’re used to, because everything gets stripped away, and you come down to the bare bones of, ‘Is my mate OK? Am I OK? How can I help? Do you want a jellybean?'”
Elordi also spoke about the camaraderie among the cast, noting how they took care of one another, which created a “quite primal” bond. “And I’m just really grateful to have shared that with these lads,” he said.
When discussing his approach to choosing roles, Jacob expressed that he follows his passion. “I really am just a superfan who is kind of following his heart,” he said. “I have no real interest in making movies just for entertainment or money.” He emphasized that his goal is to capture the “impossible feeling” that resonates with people when they encounter something meaningful.
