Lizzo is proudly sharing her weight-loss journey with her followers. On Tuesday, Feb. 19, the 36-year-old singer posted a selfie on Instagram, showcasing her slimmer physique.
“Me myself & all my Memes,” Lizzo captioned the post, which also included a collection of memes and text screenshots.
In the photo, Lizzo is seen posing in a black bra and underwear. She takes the selfie with her phone and a pink selfie stick while looking over her shoulder. She wore her hair down, added gold hoop earrings, and kept her makeup light.
The post’s carousel continued with several meme screenshots, including one with the text, “Imma crash out.”
Lizzo has been open about her weight loss, often referring to it as “weight release.” On Jan. 25, she posted a heartfelt message celebrating a milestone in her journey.
“I did it,” she wrote, sharing that she had reached her “weight release goal.” She also shared that she hadn’t seen this number on the scale since 2014. “Let this be a reminder you can do anything you put your mind to,” she added, encouraging her followers. “Time for new goals!”
The post featured a photo of Lizzo in a dark red workout set, showing her stomach and arms. A graphic in the image highlighted that she had reached her goal weight, and another image revealed that her body mass index had dropped by 10.5, while she had lost 16% of her body fat since starting her journey in January 2024.
In a March 2024 interview with The New York Times, Lizzo explained her approach to body image. She now prefers the term “body neutrality” over “body positivity.”
“The idea of body positivity, it’s evolved into body neutrality,” she said. “I’m not going to lie and say I love my body every day. The bottom line is, the way you feel about your body changes every single day.” Lizzo added that while some days she adores her body, there are others when she doesn’t feel entirely positive.
