Karan Johar’s Weight Loss: Not Ozempic, Just a Healthy Lifestyle

by Lana Green

Filmmaker Karan Johar recently addressed the growing speculation about his significant weight loss. In a candid response, he revealed that his transformation was simply the result of focusing on a healthier lifestyle.

Johar’s weight loss has sparked a wave of discussions on social media, with many expressing concern for his well-being. During the IIFA Digital Awards on Saturday night, he was questioned about the secret behind his dramatic physical change.

“It’s all about being healthy. Eating well, exercising, and doing your best to look good,” Karan told reporters at the event.

When asked for further details on his routine, the filmmaker responded with humor, saying, “If I share that, I’ll be giving away my secret.”

The rumors about Johar’s weight loss took a turn when some online users speculated that he might be using Ozempic, a drug commonly associated with rapid weight loss. The speculation gained traction after Karan’s noticeable transformation over the past few months.

To put these rumors to rest, Johar took to Instagram, addressing the issue directly. Sharing a post with a screenshot from X (formerly known as Twitter), Karan clarified that his weight loss was not due to Ozempic, but rather a result of adopting a healthier lifestyle.

The screenshot included a comment from an X user, which mentioned a comment by Maheep Kapoor on Netflix’s Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives. Kapoor had criticized people using Ozempic for weight loss, causing shortages for diabetic patients who rely on the medication. The user suggested that Karan should be called out for the same reason.

Karan Johar responded, saying, “Being healthy and eating well and reinventing the wheel of your own nutrition! Aur Ozempic ko Mile credit ???” He tagged Maheep Kapoor and jokingly asked, “Did you mean me?”

Known for his iconic films like Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, and Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahani, Johar has been open about his past struggles with obesity.

The filmmaker is set to co-host the IIFA Awards 2025 on Sunday, alongside Bollywood star Kartik Aaryan.
