Police Warn Gym Members About Car Break-ins Outside Fitness Centers On Nw Side

CHICAGO – Chicago police are warning gymgoers on the Northwest Side about a series of car break-ins that have taken place outside local fitness centers.

The incidents occurred on the following dates and locations:

January 11, 2025, 1:45 p.m. – 3400 block of W Addison St (Avondale)

April 7, 2025, 9:00 p.m. – 2100 block of N Pulaski Rd (Belmont Gardens)

April 14, 2025, 7:30 p.m. – 3400 block of W Addison St (Avondale)

April 16, 2025, 5:45 p.m. – 4900 block of W North Ave (North Austin)

In each case, the suspects targeted vehicles after observing victims entering nearby gyms. They broke into the cars by shattering the windows and stole items inside.

Police have identified one or two male suspects involved in the break-ins. One suspect is described as having dark facial hair and a beard. He was last seen wearing a black shirt with a goat image on it.
