by Lana Green

A police investigation is currently underway after two bodies were discovered in a vehicle outside a gym in Tuscaloosa on Saturday afternoon.

Captain Marty Sellers, co-commander of the Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit, confirmed the incident in a statement to the Tuscaloosa Thread. He said the police received a call earlier in the evening about a possible body in a car parked outside Crunch Fitness on McFarland Boulevard.

The Violent Crimes Unit responded to the scene, as they handle nearly all death investigations outside of hospital settings in Tuscaloosa County. Upon arriving, investigators found two bodies in the vehicle, not one as initially thought.

Sellers noted that there were no obvious signs of injury on either person. The investigation remains active, and further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
